Getting Started with YELP

1. Set up a Business account with Yelp: You can contact Alex Galindo via email at [email protected] or via phone 1 415-635-2482.

2. Fill out all the information on the business account, insert pictures, your company bio, etc.

3. Manage your reviews, respond to negative and positive reviews. If you receive a negative review, contact the person right away to resolve the situation. Sometimes these negatives become your biggest fans later.

4. If the review doesn't meet Yelp's Guidelines for posting, flag the review for removal. Often times they will be removed, which helps your reputation. It is upto you to montior these reviews as Yelp will not remove them unless you flag them.

Getting Started with Google

1. Claim your business on Google. If your business doesn't show up on Google search, you will need to submit the address and then claim the business.

2. If you have phone lines installed at your office, then you can claim your business via phone. If your phones lines are not active then you will have to request the post card to be mailed to you office.

3. Claiming your business on Google is important as this plays a large part in your SEO searches, showing up on Google Maps, etc.

Establish A Reputation Plan

It is important to establish a reputation plan and stick with it. That is the key to success with online reputation!

1. Ask clients to write reviews in the office, either on their phones or give them a paper tablet to write their comments on.  (Insert picture)

2. If the client wrote a review on the paper tablet, type out their comments and email it to them with using the following template.  Click here to download review template.

3. Include the links to your Yelp Account and Google Reviews when emailing your clients. This makes it very easy for them to just click and go.

4. As reviews are left online and in office, print them out and put them in a nice 3-ring binder so other potential clients can look at the reviews while waiting in your office.

5. Make sure your client tells a story. Yelp loves when your clients leave detailed reviews. The longer the better.

6. Ask vendors to write you a review, and you write them a review.

The faster you build a positive reputation the easier it is to keep a positive review. Per Yelp "if you are one or two stars it is very hard, almost impossible to move up to 4 stars. It is a lot easier to build positive and stay there."
