How to Setup Email

For this function you will want to be in the Location Detail Screen.

M1 sends email via POP mail. Basically POP mail is internet mail similar to GMAIL, AOL, YAHOO, MSN, etc.

Each site will provide the M1 an email address and credentials so the M1 can send emails on behalf of that user's domain name (example: mycompany.com)

Therefore, the M1 asks for 3 pieces of information:

  1. M1 EMAIL ACCOUNT (Pop server address) example:  mail.mycompany.com
  2. M1 USER ACCOUNT (email address) example: [email protected]
  3. M1 EMAIL PASSWORD (password) example: mycompany

So now, when the user (example: John) sends an email. the system will send it as [email protected] but the system will send it with the credentials above.

Since John's email and the sending email (donotreply) have the same domain (mycompany.com), the email will not be flagged as spoofing.
