Key Concepts of Action Training
The second course in the RSTLM™ series is Action Training.
Action Training is a system and a philosophy that gives new hires the greatest possible opportunity to succeed in their new job. It outlines the resources and training techniques that can help you bring your new hire up to speed on the necessary knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits of the first 100 days of their employment. The outcome of the Action Training process is that your new hire will be a self-managed individual who contributes to an increase in production.
A key concept in Action Training is the Growth vs. Control Relationship.
As this graph illustrates, a new employee will initially require a great deal of management control on your part. However, as the employee grows in competence, your control will diminish. As you relinquish control, you will take on the role of a leader who motivates.
